Hi, I'm Maria a savvy executive currently serving as a Chief Operating Officer at Xtapod inc, a Boston based software outsourcing company that provides domestic fractional CTO services & remote teams as-a-service. I have extensive expertise in global operations & team building. Love to constantly evolve and grow in all aspects of my life.

🎤 What are you working on?

I'm currently working on business development, brand awareness & employee learning & development. I'm also doing my best to provide support in local & global communities that help women thrive and enhance diversity & inclusion.

🎤 What work experience do you have?

I started my career journey as an Auditor and switched my focus to management. I've work for the Public & Private sectors and found my calling within the Technology Industry. I've managed US subsidiaries in the EU and successfully supported them to scale & flourish and, maintaining sustainable growth

🎤 How did you get into your field?

I got into tech after offered a managerial position and felt in love with it!

🎤 What is your technology stack?

I've studied economics & management but my love for technology lead me to experiment with front-end tools and website development. I've learned a lot but don't know how to code yet

🎤 Describe your first project and what is your role in it.

My first project was to apply cultural transformation and holocracy in the center of excellence I was then responsible for. It was such an amazing journey for our team to get rid of old management methods and embrace agility & diversity.

🎤 What difficulties did you encounter along the way?

Some challenging obstacles were:

1) healing previous damages the teams have suffered;
2) supporting the team switching from having push-backs to embracing change & innovation;
3) balancing multiple roles in a rapidly-growing environment while creating the maximum corporate value on a global level.

🎤 What tips would you give to someone wanting to break into tech?

Tips for new Techies:
1) Be bold and chase your dreams.
2) Stay focused on your calling.
3) Take into consideration as much feedback as possible (make the negative constructive).
4) The Tech Industry offers various opportunities in personal & professional development & it's not as chaotic as it seams (everything will make sense when you get in)

🎤 What are your career aspirations?

Some of my career aspirations are:

1. To build one of the most successful centers of excellence in the EU. Combining software outsourcing & accelerating new ideas into the global market in a much innovative way. Xtapod supports its associates with:
   - market research & validation;
   - succession planning & execution;
   - investing new initiatives in a way that allows founders to keep control of their company.
2. To keep supporting local & global communities of minorities in a meaningful & impactful way.
3. To constantly empower people on accelerating their wellbeing & operating from a state of maximum potential.

A great resource that provides food for thought & development is the CTO communities”. From Directors to entry-level associates, everyone can get a brighter point of view by the extensive expertise CTO's & VP of engineering have. I also love to read personal development books that helps you apply growth in an ethical & highly successful way, such as: The Code of the Extraordinary Mind by Vishen Lakhiani?.
