Yousra HMIMA: Software Engineering Student, WomenTech Network Global Ambassador

🎤 Hi, сould you introduce yourself?

Hi! I’m Yousra HMIMA, I’m 21 years old and I was born and raised in Morocco. I’m currently a software engineering student and global ambassador at WomenTech Network. Software engineering is a passion of mine, I’ve always loved the computer science world, I’m very much passionate about technology and I enjoy nothing more than learning the trends that technology is taking in order to work more efficiently and see progress and success.
Actually, I’m a dynamic person, who loves innovating, trying new things, finding new and more productive ways to reach goals and using new technology to provide technological solutions.

🎤 What are you working on?

Currently I’m working on a web project, it’s a website of an airline company that manages airline flight reservations and is adapted to the changes that the company has undergone during the covid-19 pandemic.
At the same time, I’m working to boost my skills, broaden my horizons, learn more and get open to the world’s new technologies.

🎤 What work experience do you have?

During the two last years, I’ve had the opportunity to complete two internships in two different IT companies, where I worked on various web and mobile projects. I learned a lot about web and mobile development, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), database and other technologies.
I’ve had a number of opportunities to participate in the organization of so many IT events, to attend different workshops, to share knowledge, experiences, and empowering people.

🎤 How did you get into your field?

After getting my bachelor, I integrated the software engineering cycle in my university. My curiosity and my passion for the computer science field gave me a strong start to my university studies.

🎤 What is your technology stack?

My technology stack : HTML , CSS , Bootstrap ,JavaScript , React Js , Angular Js , PHP, C , C++, C# , Java , JEE , MySQL etc. I prefer web technologies especially : Javascript , React Js, Angular Js.
I’m interested about Data analytics and Artificial intelligence so I’m always up for the challenge to learn more.

🎤 Describe your first project and what is your role in it.

My first project was during my first internship in an IT company, where I worked with a team of 3 interns on a web project using HTML , CSS , JS , PHP and MySQL.
We started by identifying the project specifications and requirements, analyzing the problem and finding the solution , then starting the development part using our technology stack.
As a first experience working with a team of software engineers on a project gives me the opportunity to learn about time management, teamwork , problem solving and enables me to gain first-hand exposure of working in the real world.

🎤 What tips would you give to someone wanting to break into tech?

If you are passionate about Tech , just go for it ! Choose a field and learn more about it, practice , do a lot of projects and trust in yourself!

🎤 What are your career aspirations?

One of my goals is having my own business and building an IT community, providing solutions using technology that can help people in a meaningful way , because I believe that with technology , we can make the world a better place!
